Righteousness

The Biblical images of an angry and vengeful God
contrast with our intuition of a loving God,
a God without imperatives or threats of retribution
a God who created us for His purpose.

Perhaps His purpose is to end righteousness
or at least its anger, hatred, bigotry and greed.
The purpose also relates to awareness,
consciousness of our anger, hatred, bigotry and greed.

As time erodes nationalism, racism, and bigotry
and people get tired of righteous blaming
we may turn toward just living in each moment
as a stepping stone toward love and happiness.
