"Refuge, in Being Here Now"

One teacher commented that she had finally realized
that her refuge was in being right here, right now,
speaking and thinking in the present.
When brushing her teath, each stoke is now.

Yet being here now does not provide much refuge.
Instead we need to give up our ideals and ideas
about refuge
in order to be right here, right now.

"Unless you become again as little children..."
Children in being here and now are very vulnerable,
and reflect suffering though tears
within their spontaneous and joyfull play.
