Awakening

Awakening


On awakening, just getting up is a pain
as is Yoga, trying to stretch with awareness
and Zazen, trying not to try to be fully awake
sitting with drifting thoughts, and daydreams.

The rest of the day repeats this challenge
of frequently awakening, to my failures to be mindful.
