Teleology

Given the arbitrary inheritance of our birth and society,
we intuit that our purpose may be to make the future "better"
for ourselves, and later for our children and grandchildren
and their communities, nation, and world.

But is it possible that our purpose
is to make each succeeding human generation better?
If so, are we to become Godlike in future generations
or were we already made "in his image"?

Social generations get better, but,
considering how beautiful little children are
and how ugly we become as we grow up,
is better to "become as little children"?

Instead, existance appears to transcends purpose,
or perhaps laughs at it
since any purpose
suggests more questions, such as:

Why this particular universe?
Why life, and consciousness, and this particular existance?
Why this particular world, with its evolution?
Why these animals, people, and Why me, Lord?

It seems likely that my only answer
after all my struggles, will be appreciation:
"Thank you so much
for having me as part of all this".

Still, there is being and aliveness,
and perhaps a source,
for example, of beauty, peace, and love
and sacredness.
